Welcome to my blog! My name is Javier García Pajares and I am blind and deaf. I started feeling the symptoms of my impairment when I was around 13 years old. After an awful period in which I suffered ignorance and discrimination, I overcame adversity and learnt new communication systems like tactile signing. Since then, I haven’t stopped overcoming challenges. Among other victories, I learnt to speak English without being able to listen to it, I became the first blind and deaf person to participate in the Erasmus+ programme in Europe, I got the European Commission to pass a code of conduct to protect passengers with disabilities from discrimination in the air transport field, I completed a double university degree on Law and Business Administration and Management, and I recently became the first blind and deaf person to reach the highest peak of Mulhacen mountain in southern Spain.

“A world that makes sense” is my personal blog. Here I’d like to share with you all kinds of experiences and thoughts as a blind and deaf person. Don’t miss it!
